From the very start, Elitsa, 37, living in Dublin, Ireland did not mince her words. “Don was very friendly, kind and helpful. I immediately knew he was a person I could trust.” she said.
Elitsa suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 2, which deprives her of simple activities: walking, sitting without support, managing her daily life unassisted. She first researched stem cell treatment after hearing too many times from conventional medical practitioners around the world that “my case was considered doomed.” She liked what she read about the opportunity for regeneration that stem cells offered and decided to give them a try. The alternative, Elitsa says, was that “I had either had to wait and die or fight to live a life in full against the stone hearted doctors who assured me of the fatal end of my condition.” This was not an option for Elitsa.
After receiving 7 stem cell injections at Better Being Hospital in Bangkok in 2016, she was able to sit for unlimited times without support and stay upright leaning on a table tilted at 70 degrees for an hour or so. She was so delighted with her success that she decided on additional stem cell treatment, did more research, and in 2017 found the RSCI website. Her first experience with Don was when he personally called her to let her know that her application was being reviewed by doctors who would decide if she was a candidate for treatment with stem cells derived from her own adipose fat.
Elitsa describes how from that initial contact, “Don was very friendly, kind and helpful. I immediately knew he was a person I could trust.” She tells how from Bangkok, Don coordinated all her arrangements to get to the treatment center in Germany and regularly kept in touch by phone. The arrangements were that she would fly into Frankfurt, get a train to Gottingen, where a car would meet her and bring her to the hotel Don had arranged for her. For a young woman in a wheel chair with very limited mobility, this journey would be exhausting. So, it was a delightful surprise when Don personally met her with a van at the airport because he didn’t want her to experience one day more of discomfort travelling by herself around Germany. “This is a Christmas present from me,” Don told her.
Elitsa enthusiastically relates the rest of the story: “I couldn’t believe it. After Don introduced me at the clinic, he was there for the first 3 days of my treatment. And, on the night before he had to return to Bangkok, he invited me to dinner with his great assistant Armin and Dr. Ahmed who treated me.” Elitsa is thrilled with her progress since her treatment in December 2017. “My overall strength has improved, my fatigue, terrible bronchitis, slow metabolism, insomnia, stress and shoulder pains are gone. I have sensations of warmth and vibration waves that spread through my body, and more improvements are expected in the coming months.”
Now a property and guest house manager in Dublin, Elitsa has this to say to Don: “You are a blessing and I believe God loves you very much.”
